Small Business Gift Box Collaboration

You may have seen me share some information recently about a new little project I have set up involving some of my fave businesses, an Etsy listing and some gorgeous little gift boxes. But what's it all about?!

Where did the idea begin?

You probably already know that I'm big on small businesses. You might have even seen the Subscription Service I began this year which aims to support some of my faves. If you haven't, in a nutshell, this is what it's all about...

If you've ever planned a wedding you've probably noticed that many of your suppliers are self-employed. Your cake will be made my someone who lives nearby, your flowers prepared by a local florist, your photos taken by a person you met at a fayre or saw online. They're independent people who have amazing talents and who have decided to carve a somewhat "unconvential" career by beginning their own business. More often than not they are people who enjoy the flexibility of working for themselves because they have families, commitments or hobbies that work can now work around. So when you buy from them, you're going to get a real person - someone who is going to listen, share their time, share their skills and share their love for what they do, and deliver you something personal, meaningful and bloody wonderful. They'll also work their bums off in the process. It might also make you feel good to know that you're not only supporting their dreams but also helping put food on their tables, clothe their kids and keep a roof over their heads. And that's amazing!

I set up the subscription to allow us to buy some goodies from small businesses. Each month, or every few months, subscribers get a delivery to their doorstep from a business chosen by me. We've sent out candles, crafts, cocktails, coffee guides... and we have loads more up our sleeve!

Although I love the subscription, I wanted to do more.
My main focus is always going to be working on weddings and events. But I had a few ideas that I wanted to have a go at involving more of these brilliant little bizzes...

What are the gift boxes?

I've been spending a LOT of time researching some of my favourite suppliers and choosing some of their best products. I'm teaming up with a number of them to create our first gift box concept. And, of course, it's wedding themed!

These days it can be tricky to find a gift for a wedding. When you're close to the couple you want to give them something meaningful, but you know they already have everything they need! If you're going as a Plus One or a friend-of-a-friend, you may not know them well enough to even guess what they'd be after. But there's nothing worse than showing up empty handed. This gift box contains some small, meaningful pieces that you can be proud to give. They're thoughtful, beautiful, long-lasting... and they're helping some brilliant small businesses in the process!

We've made it super easy - the box contains everything you need. Gifts, a card and gorgeous gift wrap too. No traipsing the shops. No scrolling through Etsy. Just a few clicks, and you're away!

Whats in the box?!

Great question! Allow me to show you...

These beautiful Wedding Day candles are such a thoughtful gift. Every time the happy couples light it, they'll remember you, their special day and all their loved ones together. It has a soft floral scent and looks so pretty in its amber jar. It's made by Cherry Tree Candle Co, a business we love and have teamed up with many times before. Lisa works as a wedding photographer and now also pro candle maker - and her creations are absolutely gorgeous!

You can't go wrong with dried flowers - these are simple, neutral, elegant and are designed to last. This is something the newylweds can hang on to for a long time to come, and I love the idea of them making space in their home for another little reminder of their special day! These are made by Pampas & Blush who make the most wonderful dried flower bundles and posies. They're exceptional quality and will look lovely in any home.

You don't even need to go out and buy a card! You'll get one in your box ready to write. These are stunning quality with a fabulous design saying either "On Your Wedding Day" or "Congratulations". Each card comes with a luxury envelope which matches the other items in the box beautifully (this was a happy accident but I am just thrilled
with the result!). The cards are made by Elizabeth Faye Stationery who makes gorgeous wedding pieces as well as greetings cards and giftware.

Finally we're sending you a bespoke gift bag made by Little Gift Tree and some gorgeous giftwrap to complete the package. It's super handy to pop everything inside and deliver to it's destination, and it makes it all look so so pretty. Now you'll never have to turn up empty-handed again!
