You may have heard of Rock My Wedding, but have you heard of Recycle My Wedding?! I am big on sustainability. I buy my clothes second hand, I shop for eco-friendly and plastic-free products and I do whatever I can to reduce my consumption and waste. So I was DELIGHTED to learn that it is becoming even easier to have a more sustainable wedding, too. There are lots of places you can look to find more environmentally friendly pieces - second-hand dress shops, sustainable florists & suppliers and a heap of great websites and marketplaces, too. If you'd like some more info, please just ask! When it comes to wedding planning websites, I've always loved Rock My Wedding. It is an amazing place where you can find all sorts of inspiration, advice, information and even look for venues and suppliers that you may need. It’s fun, it’s sassy and it has a huge heart. But the reason I love this site more than most others is that I just love what they stand for: How can you NOT love something committed to celebrating love in all its forms?! And they also have a commitment to our planet. So they launched their 'pro-planet sister site' Recycle My Wedding in 2020. You may remember a while ago we wrote a little post outlining five of the best reasons to go pre-loved (you can see it here, if you don’t mind a scroll…). In short: it saves the planet, it saves you money and it is still every bit as epic as buying everything new. What’s not to love?! Recycle My Wedding is a place people can use to sell on any unneeded wedding stuff - decor, props, accessories and, yes, even dresses. So if you’re in need of some bits (or, you know, everything) you can pop on over and have a browse. You’ll most likely grab yourself some bargains and you can feel really good about yourself for not only choosing to have a recycled wedding but also helping them plant more trees and be general good eggs in the world. Make sure to go and take a browse - see what's on offer, sell what you don't need, and support these guys in creating a more sustainable space in our industry!I'll just point out that nobody asked me to write this. I just think it’s an exceptional idea and think you could all benefit from it too. Rock My Wedding has always been one of my faves, and this just adds the cherry on top!
