You may have noticed I’ve had a little rebrand! And while I was thinking about a name for my business, I decided I wanted something that not only summed up what it is that I do for a living but also made it clear just how much I love living and working in Worcestershire. If I’ve learnt anything in the last two years, it’s that Worcestershire has a LOT to offer. If only one good thing came out of lockdown it’s that I have really begun to appreciate what we have right here on our doorsteps, and having put so much time lately into researching local businesses and suppliers I’m more convinced than ever that we have some of the best offerings around. So let me tell you my top five favourite things about Worcestershire weddings… 1: The variety of venuesSeriously, we have everything you could possibly want right here. Personally, I love outdoor weddings - you may know I spend most of my time in tipis and marquees, and we have some incredible spots tucked away which you can hire for your day, both ready-made venues by a lake or in a field and open spaces calling out for you to create your own wedding in. The Worcestershire countryside is beautiful, so whether you’re envisaging rolling hills or wonderful woodland, there are lots of great options that will help you get back to nature. If you’re worried about the weather, there are some beautiful barns too. Set in pretty settings out in the open but with sturdier structures and incredible interiors you can find so many unique little places to hold your wedding in. And they’re all SO different that there’s something to suit all tastes. If you don’t want to be out in the sticks, there are some fabulous places nearer the towns too. Worcester cathedral is so impressive for your ceremony and there are registry offices which are actually really lovely, not to mention some beautiful buildings and venues which are more centrally located. 2: DIY weddings are doable! If you truly want to make your wedding your own, you might want to hire a blank canvas and throw yourself into styling something totally original. Whether you’re thinking of a quaint village hall or an elaborate festival in a tipi, off the top of my head I can already think of about twenty different options for you to consider! Having the flexibility to use different spaces to put your own stamp on your day is a HUGE draw for potential brides and grooms, and I think you have so much choice here in Worcestershire. It’s also worth mentioning I know a handful of fabulous wedding celebrants who can help you celebrate your day in style, so if you’re looking for something truly personal then the sky really is the limit! 3: The INCREDIBLE suppliersFlorists, photographers, stationers, musicians… there are some amazing options for you here in the Midlands. Some of my absolute favourite people work within Worcestershire and I feel so grateful that we have such an amazing selection of people to choose from. When a couple books me, I give them a link to my favourite suppliers (I have over 100 and counting!) and the fact that there is so much choice and variety within the area is phenomenal. And they’re genuinely such amazing quality - I don’t know how we got so lucky! Being based centrally in the country too, there are a number of people happy to travel to or from the area because we’re so well-connected, so there are often people just North or South who might be able to help out, too. We can literally have it all! 4: We're underrated!Honestly, I think this is a really great thing. Being hidden away between the quaint Cotswolds and bustle of Birmingham, sometimes I do think we can be a little overlooked… but that’s okay! It means there are some real gems here, you may just have to look a little harder to find them. It also means you might end up finding something quite unique that your guests won’t have seen before which will make a real lasting impression. And I’m always here to help if you get a little stuck! I bet there are places around here that you have never even heard of, but that will get your heart racing given half a chance. 5: There are at least SIX different counties all within an hour's drive!Seriously, how lucky are we?! Setting off from my house, within one hour I could be in the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, Herefordshire or Gloucestershire - and that’s just for starters. It takes only a little longer to be within the East Midlands, Leicestershire or right in the heart of the Cotswolds. We really have the best of all worlds - urban weddings in Birmingham, stone barns in Cotswold villages, farmland across Shropshire or Herefordshire - there is literally SO much choice. It means we have the pick of the bunch, and we have options available to us here that many others wouldn’t have where they are. Yesss! If you want to pick my brain, feel free to get in touch any time. I’m always more than happy to chat and show you different options or even to visit a venue or two with you if you feel you need a hand.
