I don’t know about you, but I love this time of year. The rusty colours of orange and brown trees, the sound of leaves crunching on the ground, chunky knit jumpers, hats and scarves, and curling up on the sofa as the rain lashes down whilst you settle in to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas for the seven millionth time. Or is that just me…?! I’m not really one for celebrating Halloween (except for the aforementioned movie marathon and a little bit of pumpkin carving, of course) but I love, love, LOVE Autumn. So I thought I would put together a little bit of inspo for you to show just how wonderful events and weddings can look at this time of year, and also show you what some of our favourite suppliers have lined up for Autumn 2020. One of the main reasons I love this season is that it gives you a chance to get a little creative. Do something a little different. You can play around with colours and themes and have a go at really expressing your personality! Go for rich and warming oranges and reds; try bold, bright colours to stave off the winter blues; or if you’re feeling brave enough you can go for a dark, mysterious vibe with black and gold styling. Flowers at this time of year are really exciting. It’s when we see the change from springtime pastels and bright summer blooms to gorgeous rich posies and sprays. Olive Owl produce some of our favourite floristry, because they always dare to be a little different and are never afraid to play with bold colours! And their bouquets right now are no exception. Both fresh floral arrangements and daring dried bunches are looking awesome right now! Plus they’re also offering some gorgeous Autumn goodie bags, with mini pumpkins, leaves and decorative bits and pieces to style up your home, events or even your work space! And if you haven’t seen their wreaths yet… well, you’re missing out. Check out these gorgeous ideas too from Sweetpeas Florist (top/left) and Dusky Blooms (below/right). Stationery is another of my faves. I’m not an artsy person AT ALL so I love seeing what other people can come up with. Peach Wolfe are one of the best - always looking for something original and quirky and reflecting your personality into their work. When you send your invitations, you make a statement to your guests and I love it when they hit you like a bolt out of the blue. Now Sarah can do just about anything; her work is so varied and gorgeous! But for an Autumn vibe I adore these designs. It's amazing how a simple black and white palette can be used in so many ways. I just love it when couples go for a really daring and interesting theme, so I love these spooky, edgy designs. But I love how the same colours can be used to create a sweet, celestial vibe or a soft yet dramatic touch. I mean, they won’t all be everyone’s cup of tea but… well, isn't that the point?! But if you are thinking of something a little softer, warmer or more colourful, check out these other Peach Wolfe designs... On a similar note, another way to add a little character into your day is to dress your room with colours, textures and lovely little touches that make your guests go “wow!”. Touches like these from The Embroidered Napkin Company. These are custom napkins perfect for a Halloween-y theme, with orange, yellow and black details that add a little drama to your tables. Perfect for creating a magical, mysterious vibe but without going overboard. Even without the bold designs or dramatic theming, just by using these small touches to introduce deeper colours to your tables and scenery, you can really transform your space and create the pop you need. Finally, let's also just take a moment to appreciate how utterly joyful these photo are by Lisa Marie Halliday! Nothing screams Autumn quite like a pumpkin patch! And this husband and wife photography duo are offering gorgeous mini photo shoots whilst you're out picking pumpkins. If 2020 has taught us anything, it's that family time is so important and that getting out in the great outdoors together is really, really special. Whilst we're feeling a little limited on what we can actually do right now, experiences like this feel all the more wonderful. And those colours! Where do I sign up?! If you love this time of year as much as I do, hopefully you'll have found some things on here to bring you a little inspo for your own weddings, events or even just as little pick-me-ups! Don't forget to have a look at the awesome Autumn offerings from our fabulous suppliers too! We have loads of info on our Insta - there's a highlight on our profile with lots of ideas! Creepy cupcakes, toffee apple and cinnamon yumminess, flowers, wreaths, pumpkin spiced brownies... what's not to love?!
